Description
This Crusader Templar Keep model is part of Supreme Littleness Design’s 28mm Late/Later Medieval range.
The keep model assembles in two sections, a lower and an upper floor. The interior of both are accessible. And the steps all the way up to the battlements are a stage for your miniature battles with the aid of the figure supports that are included. The upper floor has a lift-off roof that still allows troops to stand on the battlements.
The keep model was designed with help and encouragement from the History and Games Lab of the department of History at the University of Edinburgh, and is a suitable model for Scenario 8: Raiders of the Crusader Keep (1187-89) from Daniel Mersey and Gianluca Raccagni’s Lion Rampant, The Crusader States.
This keep model was designed after a much larger model of the Crusader keep of Byblos Castle in Lebanon had been designed. The Byblos keep was the feature of an award winning game at Edinburgh’s Claymore show and the centre piece of a participation game at London’s Salute show. The same architectural elements were used to design this smaller castle keep as a versatile wargames model for historical periods from Crusader times to the present day.
This Keep kit is the same Supreme Littleness Designs kit that was previously produced by 4Ground.
Combining with the Outer Walls with Stables gives the Keep a gated area for horses and livestock.
The models are shown with figures from the Perry Miniatures Crusades range together with an Irregular Miniatures pack mule and are not included.
